Spice Genie

In 2010, my parents and uncle opened a small vegetarian restaurant called Chilli & Chutney, built on family recipes that had been cooked and shared long before the doors ever opened. It quickly became a place people returned to not just for the food, but for the comfort, warmth, and familiarity it brought.

Even after the restaurant closed, the recipes never left our home. Over the years, my mum continued to refine her craft, training professionally in both the UK and India at renowned kitchens including Mint Leaf and the 2AA Rosette Cinnamon Kitchen, while staying true to the flavours people remembered. Some of my best memories are learning alongside her in the kitchen.

Today, those same recipes return under a new name, Spice Genie. A new beginning shaped by time and experience, but still vegetarian, family-led, and rooted in the flavours that once brought people together. Not a replacement for the past, but a continuation of it, created for the way we eat today and made with the same care as always.
